Who is responsible for your data

We process the personal data you provide or that is generated while browsing, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).
What data we process, why and on what basis
1. Web analytics (Google Analytics 4)
To understand which pages are visited and how the site performs, in aggregate. Data: cookie identifiers, IP address (truncated or anonymised), device and browser type, pages viewed. Legal basis: your consent, requested in the cookie notice on entry. If you do not accept it, analytics is not loaded. Processor: Google. See the international transfers section and the cookie policy.
2. Contact form
If you write to us through the form on the home page, we process your name, email address and the content of your message in order to reply. Legal basis: your consent, confirmed by ticking the form's checkbox. Submission is processed by the FormSubmit service. We keep the message for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards; it is then deleted.
3. Server logs
The hosting server (GoDaddy) keeps technical access logs (IP, date, time, requested resource) for security and operational reasons. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security of the site.
Storage in your own browser
VisualCubing stores some preferences (language, light or dark theme, cube style, your cookie choice) and your timer results in your browser's local storage. This information is not sent to any server: your timer results never leave your device. You can delete it by clearing your browsing data.
Who your data is shared with
We do not share your data with third parties except where legally required. The services acting as processors are those listed above: Google (analytics), FormSubmit (form) and GoDaddy (hosting).
International transfers
Google Analytics: Google LLC adheres to the EU–US adequacy framework (Data Privacy Framework), which covers that transfer.
Contact form: submission is processed by FormSubmit, a service with servers in the United States, so submitting the form transfers your data outside the European Economic Area. The basis for that transfer is your explicit consent (Article 49(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by ticking the checkbox before submitting.
How long we keep the data
Analytics data, according to the Google Analytics configuration. Form messages, for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and a reasonable period afterwards. Server logs, according to the hosting provider's policy.
Your rights
You can exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to info@visualcubing.com, stating which right you wish to exercise. You may also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
If you believe your request has not been handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
Minors
This site is not aimed at collecting data from minors. The contact form should only be used by people over the age of 14.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect legal or site changes. The date of the last update appears at the top.
