Face, orient and permute

Ortega is the natural step up once you can already solve the 2×2 step by step: instead of repeating one formula until it works, each situation has its own and is solved in a single pass. Build a face, orient the top one with one of the 7 algorithms, and finish by permuting both layers at once.

Press the CYCLE button (the little cube icon, next to the Aa letters) to swap the colors so they match your own cube.

i Some cases have alternatives by pressing that same icon (⇄): a different formula for the same case. It’s a preview of what awaits you in Advanced, where many cases have two or more formulas to choose from.
